Keith Lowell Jensen: To the Moon

Muppet-voiced Northern California comedian Keith Lowell Jensen has become a one-man humor factory over the past decade. From his numerous local stand-up and emcee gigs, he built his way up to booking his own shows, creating a popular YouTube channel and he even put in a stint as a documentary film-maker. So putting out his first comedy CD wasn’t just a natural progression in his career, it was a move that was only surprising in that it didn’t happen much earlier — maybe he was busy.

Keith Lowell Jensen: To The Moon was recorded over a single weekend at Luna’s Cafe in Midtown Sacramento, the home of his weekly comedy show that has been attracting large-scale talent in a small, intimate space. With the home-field advantage, Jensen delivers his trademark brand of alt-comedy to a receptive audience.

By turns cerebral, profane and lowbrow, Jensen offers insight into life as a small-time comedian, observations about porn and an extremely funny extended scatalogical bit that give the CD it’s name (the fact that it was taped at “Luna’s” was just serendipity in action). To the Moon is a no-brainer for existing fans of Jensen’s and a great way for the uninitiated to become acquainted with one of Northern California’s fastest rising stars.
